A while ago, an old friend from elementary school told me that she has a crush on a boy.

Kim: But he’s a high school freshman!
Noreen: That’s even cuter!
Kim: No, you don’t understand, I’m 2 years OLDER than him!
Noreen: Yeah, you’re a junior… so?
Kim: That means that he’s 2 years YOUNGER than me!
Noreen: Okay…what’s your point?
Kim: I’M A PEDOPHILE!
Noreen: ok..wait, WHAT?!

I don't think it's a big deal. My boyfriend of two years is 9 months younger than me. As long as he's mature enough for her I'd say go for it. But guys are about two years less mature than their age, so while he is 14 years old, he might act like a 12-13 year old. Something to think about.

He just told me today he likes a girl who is 17 and he's 26 or so. I called him a pedo but Im mostly kidding.As long as it's not like a 20-year-old dating a 15-year-old then I think you're fine. Actually my boyfriend's the first guy I've been in a relationship with that's older than me. My first love was 8 months younger, and my second relationship he was a year and a half younger. When it's love/crush/infatuation/whatever age sometimes doesn't matter. Though when you're younger there is a big difference from a 15-year-old and an 18-year-old. But your friend is NOT a pedophile by any means. Tell her to go for it and have fun! :]
My nephew is a high school freshman who's dating a junior that goes to school with him. It's not pedophilia. Heck, it's not uncommon for junior males to date freshman females.

She should only be worrie about how the specific law is worded where she lives. She can look it up on intenet. When both parties are past puberty "paedophilia" is strictly a legal definition and depends on what legislators have written into the law. At her age, though, chances are that he is a lot less mature than she was at the same age- not necessarily, but most often that is the case.

About the age thing, when you get older the age part doesn't matter. As a youngin like you, don't worry...just tell your friend that its not a bad thing right now. See where it goes. You only have to worry when your 17 or 18 (forgot the rule in Texas) but yeah, as long as you're not doing anything to violate someone's sanctity, then you're set.
As of right now I'm talking to a girl who's 28, and I'm set to turn 23 in 2 days...age isn't anything but a number when you're older...so don't worry about it entirely.
